Rocks, bones and feathers – From dinosaur to bird!

What makes a bird a bird? Where did the key features that define this fascinating group of animals come from – destined to fulfil the purpose we associate them with today?

Join us for a lecture by our ESC volunteer Anastasis Konstantinou, a Natural History graduate from Cyprus and a passionate dinosaur and paleontology enthusiast at heart.

This talk dives deep into prehistory, exploring the ancient lineage from which birds evolved – the dinosaurs. From the largest creatures ever to walk the Earth to the smaller, agile critters that glided from tree to tree, discover how the lives of dinosaurs laid the groundwork for the birds we encounter today.

Come and listen to this fascinating story of evolution – more than 230 million years in the making (which continues today!) – and uncover the unique connection between rocks, bones, and feathers. And, of course, find out what truly came first: the chicken or the egg.

Date and time: November 19th at 6 PM

Location: Croatian Natural History Museum, Demetrova ul. 1, 10000, Zagreb.

The lecture will be held in English.

The entrance is free, but please register your attendance.
