Biom Association is a civil society organisation governed, in accordance with its Statute, by the following governing bodies: the Assembly, the Supervisory Board, the Executive Board, the Ethics Committee, and the Executive Director.
Governing Bodies of the Association
Assembly
The Assembly is the highest managing body of the Association, and it is comprised of all active (voting) members of Biom. Any member who significantly contributes to the work of the Association in the current year through volunteering, donations, mentoring, or another type of contribution can become an active member. The Assembly elects members of the Supervisory Board and the Ethics Committee, adopts decisions on the changes to the Statute, financial statements, activity reports, and other organisational changes. Regular sessions of the Assembly are held once a year.
Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board oversees the work of Biom in accordance with the mission, vision and strategic goals. The members of the Supervisory Board are elected and dismissed by the Assembly. The Supervisory Board can have five to nine members, and the Executive Director is a member without voting rights. The Supervisory Board monitors and evaluates the work of the executive bodies of the Association, supervises financial and material operations and advises the Executive Board on the content and process of the Strategic Plan.

Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee is the body responsible for monitoring and promoting compliance with the ethical principles and values established in the Association’s Code of Ethics. It also receives complaints concerning alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and conducts procedures to assess the validity of such complaints.

Proceedings concerning alleged violations of the Code of Ethics are initiated upon receipt of a written complaint submitted to eticko.povjerenstvo@biom.hr.
Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director
The Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director are Biom employees to whom operational management of the Association is delegated by the Supervisory Board. The terms of office of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director continue until revoked.

Executive Board
The Executive Board is the operational body responsible for managing the activities of Biom between two sessions of the Assembly. It consists of the Executive Director, the Deputy Executive Director, a representative of the Nature Conservation Department, a representative of the Public Outreach Department, and the Head of the Finance Department. The Executive Board is chaired by the Executive Director. The Executive Board meets at least four times a year.
