Hello,
we are Irina and Kato, volunteers from Tbilisi, Georgia.
We are studying biology and ecology at Ilia State University, faculty of Natural science. So it won’t surprise you if we say that we are motivated to protect and engage in conservation of biodiversity.
At the moment we are in Beli, working on Griffon vultures conservation program and we are going to work here for 5 months (or more  ). Coming here was very spontaneous for us. We got the e-mail from the University informing us about this project and we liked the idea of taking part in this project. We sent the motivational letters hoping we would be chosen. After one week we knew we were going to Cres and that very soon became reality.
We’re here for five weeks now and we are enjoying it very much. Working with the vultures is very interesting, rewarding with plenty of interesting activities. When we don’t work with the griffons, we help in the Visitor Centre’s museum. During free time we’re exploring the island and enjoying the sea.
If nature is important for you and you want to gain practice in vulture conservation, we recommend you to spend your time in Beli. You will get all the necessary information about vultures, will have many field work, meet new interesting people and enjoy nature.
If you do not have time for volunteering, you can just come as a visitor and also enjoy the island of Cres. In the Beli Centre you can learn about the culture of Cres and see the amazing interactive exhibition about the vultures and also see them live in the aviary which are recovering here.

We hope to see you!
