In comparison to last year, this weekend (Saturday, 23rd April 2016)  we carried out the action “Let’s do it: World Cleanup” together with the Cyclists’ Union, on the location željeznički most Mičevec, in perfect weather conditions – cloudy, but warm.

A part from cleaning the local Sava embankment, we pointed out the existence of an illegal construction landfill in the area to relevant city services. The vicinity of the location to the Savica significant landscape served as a great opportunity for the volunteers to learn about and see some bird species in the area – kestrel, buzzard, magpie, common wood pigeon,… On the way to the location, our ornithologist Vedran Lucić also pointed out the importance of such a landscape for birds, so near to the centre of Zagreb.

We would like to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and commitment. We are looking forward to such similar actions in the future!
