Conflicts between brown bear and people occur more and more often in Slovenian Alps due to increased damage that bears cause on livestock, which wonders unprotected on alpine pastures. This conflict often results with a bear hunt. Organisation Dinaricum from Slovenia conducts a project with a goal to decrease conflict between locals and bears that inhabit this area. Mateja Berce will give a lecture on this topic “Shepherding for better coexistence of people and bears in the Alps“. This project will give a good example of how bear friendly sheep grazing on alpine pastures is still possible.

Join us next Thursday, 14th of April 2016 in the hall room BO3 at the Faculty of Science, Rooseveltov trg 6 at 6 PM.

The lecture will be held in Croatian.
