According to data from the Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection, in the hunting area Podmosorje, between Split and Omis, a group of members of hunting society ” Mosor-Priko-Omis ” were caught while poaching quail whilst using tape lures. The event took place on Sunday, August 14th, early in the morning when poachers were caught by nature protection inspectors assisted by police officers. This is just another case of quail poaching with illegal equipment (tape lures). It is believed that tape lure quail poaching (disguised as legal hunting) is widespread in Croatia and we encourage all who know of such cases to report them to Inspection of Nature Protection or to BIOM who will, after fieldcheck, forward the report to the Inspection.
