Project summary
The project “Let’s Connect with Nature” aims to promote ecology, environmental protection, and the preservation of natural heritage through various educational activities for the citizens of Sinj. The Biom Association has been active in the Sinj area since 2009, implementing nature conservation projects and raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection. The project targets the general public, with a special focus on young people, and includes activities that raise awareness about nature conservation, ecology, and emphasize urban biodiversity, local species, and the karst environment.
Educational activities aimed at raising awareness about nature conservation covered topics such as urban biodiversity, learning about locally present species, and understanding the karst landscape. These activities were organized in cooperation with local schools and kindergartens.
In addition, a program was organized to mark the European Birdwatching Day, intended for the general public. As part of the program, educational lectures on the importance of birds were held, along with practical workshops for making birdhouses and feeders, as well as guided birdwatching sessions.
The project “Let’s Connect with Nature” is funded by the City of Sinj through the Public Needs Program in the Development of Civil Society of the City of Sinj for the year 2024.
