Project goals
Raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and natural heritage among children, youth, and the wider public through educational activities and volunteering.
Enriching educational programs in Sinj through collaboration with local schools, kindergartens, and associations, while providing lasting educational materials.
Project summary
The project “Voice of Nature” is designed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and natural heritage, while also enriching educational content in kindergartens and schools in the City of Sinj. The activities are aimed at the broader community, with a special focus on children and youth, and will be implemented in collaboration with local educational institutions and civil society organizations—particularly those with whom we already have cooperative relationships and who have expressed interest in participating in the project. For preschool children and students of primary and secondary schools, we plan to organize at least four educational events focused on nature and environmental conservation. These educational activities will cover topics such as urban biodiversity, bird protection, and the characteristics and preservation of karst landscapes. Participants will also have access to specially prepared printed educational materials, which will remain available after the project concludes, thus ensuring long-term value for the education system. An additional component of the project is dedicated to raising public awareness about the importance of nature conservation by informing citizens about local species and ecological challenges. One of the key activities will be the volunteer action “Guardians of the Bee-eaters,” aimed at gathering volunteers to monitor and prevent harmful actions such as the destruction of bee-eater nests—birds that play an important role in the ecosystem. The project also includes planned cooperation with other initiatives and organizations working in the field of sustainable development in Sinj, through joint participation in existing local events with educational and promotional content.
The project “Voice of Nature” is funded by the City of Sinj through the Public Needs Program in the Development of Civil Society of the City of Sinj for the year 2025.
