Project goals

The objective of the project is to diversify Biom’s income sources in order to ensure stability and sustainability of Biom’s operations

Project summary

Biom’s priority regarding the organisational finances is the unfavourable ratio between unrestricted and restricted income resulting in a strong need to increase unrestricted income. This means Biom has to diversify its income sources, which it will do through, among others, setting up of a private enterprise, owned by Biom, which would be able to diversify income for Biom.

Setting up a company will give us different opportunities, e.g. services/consultancies, tenders for SMEs, webshop selling our merchandise etc.

Biom will consult several BirdLife partners who have experience with commercial activities, including web shops, and gain their insight into different strategies on how to set up good foundations for the company.

The objective of the project is to diversify Biom’s income sources in order to ensure stability and sustainability of Biom’s operations.

The expected outcome would be that Biom has the capacity to set up and manage its own company based on best practice from the BirdLife partnership.

There are 7 main activities and related results:

  1. Establish private enterprise owned by Biom / Biom’s private enterprise established
  2. Survey of BirdLife partners that have experience with offering services and products / Survey of BirdLife partners implemented
  3. Identify experienced BirdLife partners to assist in strategic approach / BirdLife partners identified and contacted
  4. Hold Partner2Partner meeting (or organize Open Space Session) at the GPM  / Gaining insight into the strategic and operational approaches used by BL partners
  5. Study visit to BirdLife partners / Biom visits BirdLife partners and builds its capacity regarding business planning for the company
  6. Develop Business Plan for the company / Business Plan for Biom’s company developed
  7. Start implementing the Business Plan / Biom’s company Business Plan starts to be implemented
